Captain Scott Housel, owner/operator of Sudden Strike Offshore Adventures LLC, is a USCG licensed 100 Ton Master Captain and has been fishing and diving the waters out of Ponce Inlet for over 25 years. He has competed in numerous offshore fishing tournaments, winning the Inaugural Fish Stock tournament in 2003 (formally the Striker).
Captain Scott spends several days each week spear fishing, he can see firsthand where the fish are and what various bottom structures actually look like. He also maintains good relationships with other commercial fishermen and captains which provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and notes on recent fishing patterns. The Boat 31’ Contender
The Sudden Strike is a 31’ Contender with twin Suzuki 300 horsepower 4 stroke engines. It is fast and quiet without the smell of burning oil or obnoxious diesel fumes. This Contender is equipped with the state of the art electronics including Furuno NavNet fish finder and chart plotter, Furuno Radar, satellite phone and antenna, auto pilot, bow thrusters, and ICOM VHF Radio. The boat is also equipped with all necessary safety features including USCG Type 1 life jackets, throw ring, flares, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and EPIRB (emergency beacon).
The 31’ Contender is boat designed by fishermen for fishermen. It is the ultimate fishing platform and has plenty of space to fight that monster fish, set up your dive gear or to kick back and relax in a bean bag chair. It has 2 large live wells designed to keep your bait alive and full of spunk for bottom fishing, equipped with outriggers allowing for hours of trolling, 4 fish boxes providing over 1300 quarts of fish and ice storage. The twin 300's allow us to get to the fishing grounds in a hurry so we spend more time fishing and less time riding. The boat is also equipped with a bathroom for those emergency situations.
